Video content is one of the most educational forms of content on social media. Given how powerfully it impacts social media success, it's actually essential to include it in your marketing strategy.
In today's article, I'm sharing 7 tips for creating video content that is interesting and attention-grabbing.
1. Make sure your videos are high definition
With the increasing popularity of videos on social media, it is expected that the content will also be of high quality . Instagram, for example, restricts its users from sharing low-quality videos. Instagram's algorithm does not show blurry and low-resolution videos to a wider audience.
For high-quality videos, you need to:
Use a suitable natural light source or purchase a ring light for brighter and clearer images.
record in a quiet room with good acoustics - this can be achieved by using furniture and soft objects in the room that absorb sound and dampen echoes,
if you are recording with your phone, clean the lens,
if you're recording with your phone, edit videos on your iPhone or Android devices.
You can also set your Instagram settings to provide better quality content. More in the video below.
2. Start with a strong “Video hook”
The first few seconds of a video are crucial. You have a mere 8 seconds to grab the attention of your viewers. Your content should provide the viewer with as much useful information as possible. So, you need to introduce the topic you are going to talk about right from the start. Your words should be thoughtful.
Example 1:
You can start your video with a question. Questions are a great way to grab the viewer's attention because they arouse curiosity.
Questions should begin with:
• How....
• What...
• When...
Ask a question that the video will answer. If the question is interesting, viewers will stay and wait for the answer.
Example 2:
You can highlight a pain point. What is your target audience interested in? Why would they watch this video? In the first few seconds of your video, directly address their pain point with a specific question. This specific question should encourage the reader to answer "yes" or at least "I'm not sure, but I want to know more."
3. Your video should have structure
Use a simple structure in your video. What do I mean by that? Your video should have an introduction, a body, and a strong conclusion with a call to action.
Keep your end goal in mind:
What does your audience need to do to make this goal happen?
What do you want your audience to do after watching your video?
What do you want them to think?
How do you want them to feel?
Example:
For an 8-10 minute video, follow these guidelines:
• Introduction (50-60 seconds):
In the introduction, present the promise you made in the video title 075 prefisso svizzera and how you plan to fulfill that promise. In the introduction, you can share how this issue has affected you personally, which will help you connect even more with your audience.
• Title (10 seconds): This should include the title of your video and your name.
• Problem Framework (2-3 minutes): Clearly state a problem that your target audience can identify with and feel pain about.
Explain the problem you will be solving in your video from different angles so that the viewer can better understand it. Explain how this problem affects their life and business and why they are facing this problem.
Your goal is to engage your audience so strongly that they will be interested in the solution.
• Solution (4-5 minutes):
Show how you can solve the problem . Present your solution with examples. Solution 1 followed by an example, solution 2 followed by an example, etc. You can also include testimonials or opinions from people or an example of how it worked for others.
• Hook - Attract (the focal point of the video):
The promise is usually in the middle of the video, encouraging the viewer to watch the second half of the video.
• CTA (1-2 minutes):
Finally, follow up with a call to action by asking people to take a specific action after watching your video. If you use a CTA, your viewers will be more likely to respond.
4. You appear in most of the videos yourself
One thing that can really impact your engagement rate is having you in person on your video. This will build trust with your audience by encouraging interaction through comments, likes, and shares . Plus, people will see and get to know you.
Why is this important?
Research has shown that 78% of internet users prefer to buy from a person rather than a company, and least of all from a logo.
differentiates you from the competition,
no one can be the same as you, because you are unique and one of a kind,
helps you become more visible, which in turn leads to greater trust from your potential customers,
people remember you.
5. Add subtitles to videos
In recent years, the popularity of closed captioning for videos has grown exponentially. According to a report by the National Association of the Deaf, 78 percent of Americans say they would like all programs to be closed captioned. This growing demand has been fueled in part by new technology that makes it easier to create and view captions on a variety of devices.
In the past, captions were created using a process called "open captioning," which involved lit text that could not be turned off. Today, most captions are created using "closed captioning," which allows the viewer to turn the captions on or off at will.
Although some social media platforms like Facebook , Instagram, and YouTube automatically create captions, both apps have simple text editing software available.
Even if your video only has music in the background, consider adding textual content to give viewers more meaning and encourage viewers to follow your video.
6. Adapt the video for mobile devices
Since the video is played on a small screen, it needs to be made interesting and dynamic using various editorial techniques.
The following can help you with this:
narrow cutouts (crop/framing),
large text graphics that stand out on a small screen,
fast and dynamic pacing,
contrasting and bright colors,
dynamic music that follows the flow of the shot, repetition of the brand name or voiceover.
7. Don't forget a pinch of humor
People want to watch or read content that makes them laugh. Don’t just send marketing copy and sales videos. Incorporate stories into your video content. Personal stories are best, but you can also borrow someone else’s story.
We imagine various situations on a daily basis through stories. That's why successful companies today understand the need to use stories, as they connect with people more easily. Try including a story in your video content.
With stories, we can achieve customer trust faster than just providing information about why our product or service is what our customer wants.
Video marketing is more important than ever for social media success. Make it part of your marketing strategy as soon as possible.
