Delivering 5G architecture in containers
As service providers move toward 5G to achieve better service, operational agility, and increased revenue potential, there is a technological evolution taking place in infrastructure to move from monolithic solutions to virtualization and cloud-based models for distributed networks. In this new cloud-native, geo-distributed model, 5G will be enabled by virtualization at the edge. A recent study by Heavy Reading showed that 38% of service providers view cloud at the edge as “critical” to their 5G strategy.
As the industry builds out its edge clouds to support the next generation of 5G services how to get vietnam number for whatsapp infrastructure is required that enables the rapid delivery of new services while still meeting 99.999% reliability requirements. Dell Technologies and Wind River are dedicated to delivering this modern infrastructure to their customers. Beyond defining the architecture, Dell Technologies and Wind River have collaborated to develop and validate a reference architecture for 5G vRAN and other edge use cases. Service providers and ISV partners can be confident that the underlying infrastructure provided by this joint architecture will enable rapid, reliable deployments across a multitude of use cases.
““The combination of Dell PowerEdge platforms with the newly fortified Wind River Cloud Platform brings together best-in-class products into a single, proven and qualified solution so CSPs and ISVs can rely on critical infrastructure from the core to the edge.”

Dell Technologies and Wind River Cloud Platform
Dell Technologies and Wind River have brought together the reliability and offerings of the Dell PowerEdge R740 and XE2420 with the Wind River Cloud Platform to run and manage the network edge. Built on the open source StarlingX project, the cloud platform is a fully cloud-native, Kubernetes and container-based architecture for deploying and managing distributed edge networks at scale. The combination of Dell PowerEdge platforms with the ruggedized Wind River Cloud Platform brings together best-in-class products in a single, tested and qualified solution for CSPs and ISVs to rely on for critical infrastructure from the core to the edge of the network.
The joint solution supports CSPs with a containerized edge infrastructure that provides the low latency, redundancy, and high availability that workloads require while reducing operational costs. The solution includes the unique ability to perform true Zero-touch provisioning (ZTP), fully autonomously activating remote edge subclouds regardless of the number of nodes. As a validated reference architecture, the Wind River Cloud platform seamlessly integrates with essential infrastructures such as Dell drivers like iDRAC and Redfish. All of this works together to provision and scale resources as needed for performance and reliability from day one. We want to help our customers find the freedom at their edge to deploy services from all corners of the world without constant human oversight.
vRAN as a Use Case
The vRAN (Open RAN) use case is a perfect example of an application, so Dell Technologies and Wind River have created a validated reference architecture that defines the hardware and software requirements that build this solution. By optimizing the hardware infrastructure in conjunction with the containerized environment, it enables a best-of-breed, disaggregated solution that service providers can use as the foundation for their 5G platform. Another use case is leveraging the Wind River Cloud Platform for Telco-managed private 4G/5G networks that enables extending network workloads into the enterprise domain while still maintaining the security and flexibility that telcos want. The platform enables network, on-premise MEC (Multi-access Edge Compute) and AEP (Application Enablement Platform) workloads to co-exist outside of Telco Data Centers, but still be secured and managed in an Enterprise Domain.
Working closely together, Dell Technologies and Wind River are committed to ensuring our customers can effectively deploy and monetize the platform for 5G use cases. When service providers are concerned about latency, reliability and security, they look no further than our joint reference architecture.
