How many types of funnels are there? Here I explain the main ones

Post by asimd21 »

There are people who believe that a funnel is a magic wand.

Are your sales not going so well?

Set up a funnel and you'll see how everything falls into place automatically.

The funny thing is that, even though we talk so much about them, there are still a lot of people who don't understand exactly what a funnel is .

I'm telling you this because there are chinese overseas british data people who ask me which funnel to use to get traffic, or to capture / mature leads (when those are PHASES of a sales funnel ).

Or which one is better for selling X (without me knowing what their starting situation is, their objectives, or the resources they have...).

The point is that there are many types of funnels , each with its own characteristics.

And depending on your needs and context, it will make more sense for you to implement one or the other.

That's what I'm going to explain to you in this post.

But first I need you to be clear about what we are talking about…

[Types of funnel ] Clarification of the concept
A funnel is:

The hypothetical journey a person takes from coming into contact with your brand until they buy from you.

Pay attention to this part of the definition:

“ From the moment they come into contact with your brand until they buy from you .”

And within that path there are several steps or phases (the stages of the funnel ):

There is the acquisition phase, where you focus on attracting visitors.
The conversion phase, where you convert those visits into leads .
The activation or maturation phase, to prepare these leads for the sale.
And the sales phase, where they become customers.
There will be funnels where these phases are shorter or longer, or funnels where we skip one of these steps altogether.

But they are still steps within a specific funnel.

That's why it makes no sense to talk about " funnels to get traffic" or "funnels to capture leads ", for example (it would be like saying that a wheel and a steering wheel are two different types of car).

4 ways to categorize funnels and their characteristics
Now that we have the basics clear, I'm going to explain different ways to categorize (for real) the funnels that you can use in your business.

Grab a pen, you're going to need to take notes.
