In 2012, Google launched its penultimate search engine, Penguin . And just a year later, Hummingbird . What happened in just one year that made Google reconsider starting from scratch? And how does this affect you in 2024?

Thanks to these 12 years of stability, theoretically dominating the Google search engine is easier than before, but the competition does not make it easy for us. Positioning our website or page among the top positions in the results pages is a complicated task, where we find ourselves involved in a highly competitive process.

The web is a living environment that is constantly evolving and changing, which makes it a huge challenge to optimize for any term . Keywords are a big part of traditional SEO, but most users don't care about keywords, they simply want answers to the questions they're asking on Google.

With the arrival of voice search (Siri, Alexa, Cortana and Google Voice Search) and the popularization of smartphones, Google decided to tune up its engine for the new era.

This is what is called the user's search intent. So, we can define two concepts that must be made very clear from the beginning:

Keyword: This is the word or term that the user enters in the Google search box.
Intention: Result to be shown that provides a solution and resolves needs or doubts.
