Hourly pay

When a person starts working on an hourly wage system, their monthly salary is specified in the employment contract. Overtime is calculated based on whether the person works the specified hours according to the schedule.

Let's imagine that an employee performing tasks on an hourly basis receives 180 rubles per hour. This month, he worked 5 hours overtime, 2 of which were on one day, and a week later - another 2. The company works 5 days a week, and working hours are calculated in total.

The overtime payment will be determined by the following formula: 180 * 1.5 * 2 + 180 * 2 * 3 = 1620 rubles.

In this example, overtime hours are calculated per week, not per working day.

Another situation: the student database organization adds up the working time for 3 months, the person works according to the schedule with hourly pay and the rate of 180 rubles per hour. During the accounting period, he managed to work:

for the first month 143 hours, 7 of which were overtime;

for the second - 158 hours, 7 of which are over the norm;

for the third - 149, 10 hours below the monthly norm.

For one reporting month, the standard working time is 446 hours. Now let's calculate how many of them the employee worked: 143+158+149=450.

Now let's determine the number of hours of overtime work: 450 - 446 = 4 hours.

The rework fee is: 180*1.5*2+180*2*2=1260 rubles.

This is what the overtime payment amount looks like for the entire accounting period. However, calculations must be made at the end of the period. For this reason, it is important to understand that the employee has already received a one-time fee for overtime. Accordingly, the calculation of the additional payment for him will look like this: 180 * 0.5 * 2 + 180 * 1 * 2 = 540 rubles.

Changes in overtime pay from September 1, 2024
According to the currently valid provisions of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, and specifically the provisions of Part 1 of Article 152 of the Labor Code, work over the schedule is paid as follows:

for the first 2 hours of work - one and a half times the amount;

for subsequent ones - double.

It is only necessary to take into account the hourly rate - the part of the salary that the employee receives per hour or day.

The procedure for calculating the amount of payments for overtime work may be established in a local regulatory act of the director of the organization, an employment or collective agreement.

Compensatory and incentive payments are not specified in Article 152 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, which allows employers not to take them into account when calculating wages for overtime work.
