Target marketing involves dividing a market into segments and then focusing marketing efforts on one or a few key segments, consisting of customers whose needs and wants best match our product or service offering.

It can be the key to attracting new customers , increasing sales, and making your business a success. The beauty of target marketing is that directing your marketing efforts to specific groups of consumers makes promoting, pricing, and distributing your products and/or services easier and more cost-effective, and provides a focus for all of your marketing activities.

For example, let's say a catering list of phone numbers philippines company offers catering services at a client's home. Instead of advertising through a newspaper article that is sent around the world, the catering company would first identify the target market for its services, depending on, among other things, the area where it can offer services.

You could then target your desired market with an email marketing campaign if you have a database built, and send only to those who fall within the area where you can offer the service. Or for example, create a Facebook ad targeting customers in this specific area who have shown interest in food delivery services.

The better the segmentation, the more profitable the campaign will be.

Social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram have sophisticated targeting options that allow businesses to target users based on their characteristics and interests.

Although market segmentation can be approached in many different ways, depending on how you want to “slice the pie,” three of the most common types are demographic segmentation, geographic segmentation, and psychographic segmentation.

Below is the link to our article (link) in which we talk specifically about the types of segmentation.
